Fantastic Week!

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!

This week has been a party once again. Everyday is a party on the mission. You get to share the gospel all day and make people happy what could be better than that??

Tuesday we had a cool miracle. So we only had about 10-15 minutes left before we went in for the night and we had a few formers we could try so we went to one of them and no one was home (so we thought) or that they were sleeping. I was still at the doorstep and Sister Graver was starting to head back to the car and a man comes out of the side door and so we start talking to him and he's super awesome! He was telling us all about his camping trip he's about to go on and all these things. We talked with him about the Book of Mormon and set a return appointment for this week!

Thursday night we drove to Utica (3 hours) with the Zone Leaders for MLC and it was super fun because the new elder has served the last 22 months in Russia so he taught us Russian words and gave us a Russian coin! It was so cool to learn about the culture and what being a missionary there was like!
And the best part of that night was I got to see Chessy!! (Sister Reintjes) I love her so much, she's the best. We got to sleep in their apartment because there wasn't enough room in the mission home and it was so fun.
Friday MLC was so good, I always come out of meetings wanting to do something better! There's always room for improvement! And I got to see all the cute sisters that I love so much. :))

Saturday we did service at Habitat for Humanity and usually there's only a few other volunteers working with us but this time there were dozens and we were so confused! We did a lot of fun things though at the house we were flipping like carrying things from a huge pile of metal into a trailer and then taking giant wood pieces and putting them into another trailer some of which were covered in ants and we found a little mouse friend under it all. It was awesome. Some of the other volunteers kept asking "are you sure you got that?" Of course! I'm stronger than I look ;)
As we were talking with the people there they said that 13 different churches in the area came together and did a four day mission trip which they call Love Your City doing service and spreading the love of Christ all throughout the city. It was super cool! They were the sweetest people.
And they invited us to an event Sunday night where they share testimonies of their experience.
So we went! It was super cool! They played really good Christian music. It makes me happy seeing so many people that love Jesus. Now they just need to read the Book of Mormon! :D
We did invite the pastor and his wife to come on a church tour so hopefully that works out!

Also another miracle! We were teaching a super awesome guy a couple weeks ago who's been taught by missionaries a lot before and then we lost him because he doesn't have a phone and missed our appt. but we did know where he worked so we went there and he was so happy to see us! He set an appt for a couple hours later and the lesson went super well! He drinks a lot so that's what we are helping him overcome. He even committed to not drink at all yesterday!

Yesterday we had another awesome miracle. So yesterday I was super tired for some reason, might've just been because it was pretty warm and humid and I was fasting--not sure. But anywho, so we had about 20 minutes before we had dinner at a members and Graver suggested I take a quick power nap so I can get my energy back but I didn't want to do that because I knew every minute is precious time so we went out and tracted a couple doors on a pretty busy road. And we go to one last house and there's a lady sitting on her porch and we talk to her about who we are(she thought we were Jehovah Witnesses at first) and what we do. We gave her a Book of Mormon and we have an appt to teach her more tonight! When we drove away we even saw her reading from it! Happy day!

Life is good!! Hope you all have a fun 4th of July!!!
Love,
Sister Horne
