Time flies when you're having fun!

This week has gone by fast!

We got to see an investigator this week that has been out of town for a long time which was awesome! We had a lesson with another investigator and a member came with us and they bonded! The lesson was so good, we all felt the Spirit so strongly. She kept saying how she felt so happy when we are there and feels happy afterwards! She's recognizing the Spirit!! I'm so happy.

Thursday we were tracting and we met this lady who seemed interested, we asked her if there was a time we could come by and share more and she said come on in! Of course we accepted that offer! We taught her the restoration and she was pretty accepting! We are teaching her more this week which should be good :)

We also started teaching someone new on Thursday. He's a super nice guy with a 3 year old son who wants to start going to church. After that we had a really good lesson with a less active family! The Spirit was so strong as we talked about testimonies!

Friday-Vestal exchanges!! I love exchanges, the planning part before the exchange isn't the funnest thing ever but the actual day itself is so much fun. I love the sisters I get to spend the day with! I learn so much from them. And it's always nice to change things up a bit. :)

Things have been going good here! These next three weeks a lot of exciting things are happening! And then transfers again! And who knows what will happen there! Things get a little tricky when your companion goes home the same time as you.

Love you all!! And Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian family! :D I'll be celebrating over here in NY!

On the road.... to MLC

It's been a good week! Our most progressing investigator moved to another sister's area which was sad but those sisters are awesome so at least I know she is in good hands. :)

Thursday we drove to Syracuse to spend the night with the sisters there for MLC (Missionary Leaders Conference) on Friday which was super fun. We had to wake up a little after 5am to get to Utica on time Friday morning but it was worth it because we got to jam, eat pop tarts and watch the sunrise!

MLC was awesome as always! President talked more about the APOSTLE coming this month!! Yes, everyone in the mission will get to shake the hand of an APOSTLE OF THE LORD. HOW COOL IS THAT?? I'm so so so excited!!

We also had a miracle of being able to see someone who's been in Florida for months!! She is the sweetest lady ever and it made me so happy to see her again. <3

And this weekend was General Conference!!
I loved it so much!! I can't wait to get the conference magazine and be able to read and study them all over again! If you weren't able to watch conference you definitely should do that! It helps so much!
I am so sad that I don't have anymore general conferences as a full-time missionary. :'( I know that God has bigger and better things planned for me though, even though I wouldn't mind being a missionary forever. :)

I love you all!! Have a great week!

Gorgeous sunrise on the way to MLC, it almost made waking up at the crack of dawn worth it :)

So...the elders decided to make funny faces in our backup camera and
then it turned into them doing this and walking beside the car for a while lol
Of course we had to go to Stewarts on our way back from MLC :)

Just a little birthday party...

First off, THANK YOU for all the emails, notes, posts, packages for my birthday!!! I feel so loved!! I have the best family and friends ever!! Thank you!!

This week has been good!

We taught a super sweet lady from China this week and she is willing to experiment and read the Book of Mormon which is really exciting!

We also taught one of my favorite people(also from China) she is the sweetest person ever! The language barrier is a little difficult but at least she has a Chinese Book of Mormon she can read.

Wednesday night we had a missionary fireside and it went really well! Recent converts shared their testimonies and they showed powerful videos, the Spirit was very strong. An 11 year old who was baptized right before I got here shared her testimony and it was the cutest thing ever! I couldn't help but smile the whole time!
A couple of our investigators came and they really liked it! One of them said she had chills!

Saturday the Women's general session of conference was so good!! I loved it! I especially loved President Uchtdorf's talk! I can't wait for conference this weekend!!

I am so grateful for this time I have to be a missionary! I don't want it to end!

God is the Gardener

Some awesome things about this week was that Sister Rogers came out with us for the night on Tuesday and it was so fun! I love President and Sister Rogers.

Wednesday we did Zumba with a member at a retirement home and it was a blast! Some of them were getting really into it lol

We were able to talk with a lady who hangs out in our church parking lot quite a bit (she lives at a rehab place right across the street) and we actually started teaching her and she came to a baptism and came to church this week and said yes to being baptized! She smokes so after she is clean from that she can get baptized!

Life is good! I've learned a lot about being patient this week and that God knows best. There's a really good Mormon message called the Will of God and the man says "I am the Gardener here and I know what I want you to be." It's so true! God knows what will help us and make us grow more than we do. He can see the whole picture. I am so grateful for that!
Love you all!!

He will take our burdens

Another great week here in paradise!

We went over to a members house and watched a couple of the Addiction Recovery videos with an investigator, and let me tell you- they are powerful! It's super duper sad what some people go through because of their addictions, but the Spirit was very strong as they talked about how they turned to Christ and were able to let Him take their burdens. Pretty cool. Our investigator really liked it.

Friday we had exchanges and I had so much fun! The sisters are seriously so incredible. The absolute best thing about being a Sister Training Leader is getting to spend the day with so many different sisters and to learn from them. Especially being around sisters who are in their last transfer, there's something special about a missionary who is about to go home. They are confident and teach so powerfully. It is so fun to be able to witness.
I feel like after every exchange we always say how we will party it up when we get back to Utah for school haha

This week we were able to contact some people that we haven't been able to for a while which was super exciting! Me and Graver met a cute young girl when I first got here and we haven't been able to contact them since (her and her husband have super busy schedules), but last night we did and they were busy right then but said we could come anytime! They seem golden!
This week might be the last week I have in this area and I'm determined to work hard until the end!

I love you all and am so grateful for the opportunity I have to serve the amazing people of NY and to serve alongside so many talented and inspiring missionaries. There really is nowhere else I would rather be.

Love Teaching!

Its been another busy and great week!

Monday we went out for breakfast where one of our investigators works, that was a lot of fun! Tuesday we had exchanges with the Corning sisters and it was the best! I love them so much! They are such hard working missionaries, I love it. We had some great lessons, my favorite is when we sang hymns to a cute elderly lady in the ward at the retirement home she lives in and two of her friends came to listen. It was adorable. I love the Spirit that the hymns bring.

Wednesday we had a really good lesson with one of our investigators. We brought a member with us who hadn't gone out with missionaries for 10 years because of his health. He was perfect in the lesson and shared some great experiences. Then he took our investigator out for ice cream! I love the members!! I don't know how we would do missionary work without them.

Thursday was the best. We had interviews with President, went and saw two less actives we haven't seen in a long time. Played red light green light with a recent convert (don't worry we related it to the gospel) and picked up two new investigators! Then that night we drove with the Elders to Utica for MLC and got milkshakes at Purity Ice Cream in Ithaca (soo good).

Friday was fun, we talked a lot about being all in and having the faith that what we are doing really does make a difference. It was nice because we don't have a training to give in the next few weeks so it was a lot more laid back.

Saturday night the elders had a baptism and our investigator came and loved it! He started crying when Kevin was getting baptized because he felt the Spirit!

I love being a missionary! Hope you all have a wonderful week!

Incredible! - wonderful work and we met Elder Nielson

This week has been INCREDIBLE!!

The week started by having exchanges with the Ithaca sisters which was a lot of fun! They are the best. :))
Thursday we helped a less active clean his chicken coop! Oh the things you do on a mission haha that was definitely a first, other than the smell it was a lot of fun! haha
And that night we met two people who talked to us for a pretty long time who love Jesus so much! It was so fun to talk with people who love Jesus just as much as we do! One was even wearing a shirt about Jesus he made, a hat that talked about Jesus and showed us the tattoos on his arm that were all about Jesus. It was pretty awesome haha

So Saturday was the best day ever.
You know those days where you feel the Spirit and know you're being guided by Him in small daily decisions and then there's those times where you feel the Spirit so strong that it just consumes you and you feel like you just want to stop time because its the best feeling ever? Yeah that happened this week for a WHOLE DAY!!

In the morning we helped a member move then we drove two hours to Liverpool (where I started my mission!) to see a member of the Seventy who was just called to be over the North America Northeast area and wanted to meet the missionaries. It was so good!! President and Sister Rogers spoke, along with Elder Clay and the new Seventy, Elder Nielson!! The Spirit was so so strong the whole time. 2/3 of the mission were able to go which is more missionaries then have been gathered together before. I saw three of my past companions!! (four if you include Sister DuBose who I was companions with for three days) and some of my mission friends who I haven't seen in months that are going home in a few weeks!! It was like a mission reunion!! I loved it so much!
I was asked to give the closing prayer and after the prayer when I was about to walk back to my seat Elder Nielson said "Sister!" and I looked over and he had his hand out and gave me a handshake and smiled at me and said thank you! I got to shake a Seventy's hand twice!! (everyone shook hands with him in the beginning)
And to make the day even better Sister DuBose, who I was with in Auburn for a few days when Sister Graver left, told me that the lady we met and picked up as an investigator has gone to church THREE TIMES since I was there and tells everyone that Jesus sent the missionaries to her!! How cool is that?!? That made me so happy to hear!

After the amazing meeting with Elder Nielson we went to Corning to see the sisters baptism! A whole family was baptized (parents and four kids) and it was so amazing!! The Spirit was definitely felt by everyone!
Man I just love being a missionary!! I don't think I can say that enough. I don't want this adventure to end!

Love you all!!

Love to Teach

This week we had some really good lessons! Our investigators are progressing slowly but surely! One of them when we first met him was not comfortable with us praying with him and now only after a few lessons he wanted to say the closing prayer!! And it was a really good one too! Miracle! Sometimes when investigators pray I can't help but smile the whole time. :)

Wednesday we had zone conference which was a lot of fun to see the sisters! One of my good friends on the mission is going home this transfer and said her departing testimony, I'm going to miss her! Good thing we will both be living in Provo in January!

When we had a brief testimony meeting at the end of the conference I kept thinking "I never want to leave. I just want to be a missionary forever!" Time is going by way too fast! I only have one more zone conference left and then I'll be the one going up there and sharing my departing testimony! 😨😢

Friday we had a car fast in the entire mission which meant that all the cars were to stay parked all day and that we were on foot!
We were rushing from appointment to appointment but it was fun! Good bonding time :) I think I might've killed Sister Moore though haha we got gatorades mid way through the day and sour patch watermelon which made everything better. :) I got a little taste of what some of my friends on their missions have to do everyday because no one has a car. Man am I grateful for a car and a healthy body that allows me to be able to walk 12 plus miles in a day!

Saturday was a big stake event at a state park by Binghamton! It was so fun! We got to see everyone in our zone again and I played volleyball for probably 2 hours straight! I was the last sister still playing by the end haha safe to say my arms were a little sore the next day lol

Sunday we taught an awesome less active with a member and it went so well! We also went to another less actives house with her and that went really good too. I love the members so much!! They are such a great example to me.

I love being a missionary and am excited for another fun and miracle filled week!

Hello!! I have a new companion!

This week was awesome and definitely a lot different than normal weeks.

Sunday night through Wednesday morning I was in Auburn with Sister DuBose because my companion left for the mission home on Sunday night.

We had a lot of fun and Tuesday was full of miracles! We picked up four new investigators and started to teach a new less active! Every time we taught the restoration and testified of what we know to be true the Spirit was so strong! It just worked out that I recited the First Vision during every lesson and after I said it I just paused and the investigator said "Wow.." It was so amazing to be there to witness them feel the Spirit! I just love the people in New York so much!! Wherever I go, even if its not really my area the people have such a special place in my heart.

Wednesday was transfers and a couple of my companions were there! I love seeing them so much. There's nothing quite like the relationship you have with companions.
I have a new companion! Her name is Sister Moore (every one gets our names confused because they sound so similar) She's from West Valley, UT and we came out the same time. She's super sweet and a great teacher. :)

Friday was MLC and it was a lot of fun to see two of my past companions! My trainee is an STL now and I'm so proud of her! I love being able to see how much she has grown between when she first came into the field and now. :))
We learned a lot in the meeting and felt the Spirit.
That night we had a great lesson with our investigator and he said that the Book of Mormon brings him peace! And that he's been thinking a lot more about baptism! We put him on date for September 9th! He's coming to church and participating more. I just love being a missionary!

I hope you all have an amazing week and listen to the still small voice of the Spirit!

I Know..

This week was crazy/fun/busy/sad/amazing all of the above!
And this upcoming week is going to be even crazier with a lot of traveling.

Tuesday we had a really powerful lesson with one of our investigators, something I love is when investigators ask us as missionaries questions about our personal conversion and beliefs. Not just what the church thinks but what truly deep inside I believe. I love it because whenever I answer those types of questions I am able to have the Spirit witness to me that what I am saying is more than just words, I really do believe it and know it to be true.

Wednesday we had a great lesson with another investigator and he bore testimony to us that he really believes that this is the change he has been praying for and needing in his life. He is just the coolest and I really believe he could be baptized soon!
That night we had our weekly missionary meeting and we usually have a spiritual thought in the beginning but this time instead of assigning someone our ward mission leader had us all (6 missionaries and two ward missionaries, which included a recent convert) bear testimony of what we know to be true. It was SO incredible! In that room was an RM of a few years, a previous bishopric member, a recent convert who was endowed last month, one new missionary, and two missionaries going home tomorrow. TALK ABOUT POWERFUL. The Spirit was so strong. I am so grateful for the things I KNOW. I don't know where I would be without this gospel in my life and in my family's life.

Friday we went to the fair on our dinner break and we were walking through it on the way out to get to our appointment and a girl said "Hey, are you Mormons? Wait sisters come back!" so we looked around and there was a girl about our age who worked at the carnival and she was Mormon! She has been inactive for a long time but she said she would come to church! So cool! God works in mysterious ways!

Saturday we had an appointment with someone who was pretty recently baptized and we brought a member with us so we could go inside but he ended up not being home so we tried a few other people then felt like we should stop by our investigators house to see if he would be available for a lesson. He was and we had such a good lesson with him! The member we took was perfect in every way!! She struggles with some of the exact same things that he did. It was so amazing to be there in that lesson. What a tender mercy.

Church was super good on Sunday!! Especially because we had two investigators come! What a perfect way to end this transfer.

Sister Graver is headed home and I will miss her A TON but I'll be getting a new companion this Wednesday which will be fun!

We went to Poppleton again in Corning! It seems to be becoming a tradition haha
  I love fun walls!

We had a lesson at the park with an investigator right before our missionary
correlation meeting and it started pouring rain but we walked that day so we walked/ran
to the house we had our meeting at and when we got there we were both DRENCHED haha
The look on the elders faces were priceless, they thought we were crazy lol
On our dinner break we went to the fair right next to our apartment!!
