Goodbye...

HI!! What a week! I feel like so much has happened in only 7 days!

Last Monday we taught one of the cutest recent converts and we saw our investigator who is getting baptized soon.

Tuesday was such a party!! After studies we went to see a member and say goodbye, we said goodbye to the wife of our ward mission leader, saw a recent convert, taught our cutest Chinese investigator who always gives us presents, went to Elcor (a nursing home) and helped out with their Halloween party! Then we saw 3 recent converts, then had the most fun Halloween dinner ever at the Capeners! We went trick or treating with them for a little bit, then went and saw a member, then taught our awesome investigator, then saw two more recent converts. It was the most fun, craziest, bittersweet day ever. I felt so so loved. Everyone was saying the sweetest things and I would tell them I could facetime them soon and that made saying goodbye easier. I'm going to miss them all so much!!

Wednesday was transfers! We got up early and drove with the Corning sisters to Utica! I was able to see a couple previous companions and some good friends. Then I left with my new companion and started to work! Sister Shulz is the best. I love her so much! We have a lot of fun together.

We saw Prince who's a recent convert and a cute lady who is less active. That night we started to teach a former investigator again. She had a lot of questions and concerns. It's nice that Sister Shulz and I have both been out for awhile so all her concerns are mostly things we have heard before.

Thursday we had fun service at the library! We drew a Thanksgiving scene on the window with markers and it actually turned out really good! We were surprised haha

Friday we had MLC which was a lot of fun. I always learn a lot and have new things to do to be better. We picked up a new investigator that night which was awesome. He's super cool.

Saturday we helped out at the library which a big activity they were having. We were in charge of the face painting table but no one came to us so we just practiced on our hands haha

That night we taught the coolest recent convert/part member family. The mom who was baptized first told me her conversion story and I felt the Spirit so strongly the whole time! She is seriously incredible. We are teaching her 14 year old daughter and we really think she can get baptized soon!

Sunday was church! It is always an adjustment going to a new ward but the longer I'm here the more at home it will feel. We saw a less active lady in the afternoon and she's so sweet.

Life here has been great so far! We are super excited to work hard and see miracles this transfer!

Love you all!

Beauty of the Gospel and NY

Hello!!  It's been a really good week!

Last Tuesday we taught a lesson to our investigator and she told us she knew the Book of Mormon was true and committed to be baptized!! It was such a cool lesson.

Thursday our investigator had really good questions about the Plan of Salvation which was awesome. He really is wanting to know if this is true for himself.

Friday we walked all day to save miles because this month has been a little tight with the extra places we have had to drive to. It was nice weather that day though so it wasn't bad. Plus, we treated ourselves with Wendy's so it has to be a good day haha

Saturday we went to Habitat for Humanity and did service there which is so fun! Last week we learned how to be electricians and this week we used a shop-vac to clean the cob webs from the basement ceiling! It is always an adventure! Plus the people we volunteer with are super nice and are always cracking jokes haha That night was the ward Trunk or Treat - which was a lot of fun.

Then Sunday there were so many nonmembers at church! It was so cool! It was the primary program so some of the members invited friends who came and the grandma and dad (who aren't members) of a recent convert were there, a recent convert we see who hasn't been to church in ages was there, a man we see who hasn't been to church in months was there, two of our investigators were there, the mom and son of a less active family were there, it was just a party! The kids did such an amazing job! I love the primary program so much!

We found out about transfers yesterday and I'm going to New Hartford (which is right by Utica) to be with Sister Shulz!! It is still an STL area so I'll get to meet and spend the day with new sisters which will be a lot of fun! Sister Johnson, who I trained a few months back, is coming here!! This transfer is going to be so great, I can't wait!!

Love you all!!

Temple Trip!

Sorry I don't have a lot of time this week!

It has been an amazing week! Elder Stevenson came on Saturday and spoke at a mission conference and it was absolutely incredible!! I still am amazed that I was sitting like 5 feet from an apostle of the Lord!!

Today we went to the temple and it was so much fun!! I love the temple so much! I could just stay there all day.

We had exchanges with the Ithaca sisters and they are incredible! I love them so much!

We started teaching a family that I am super excited about!!

Life is great!! I'll let you know transfer news next week!!

LOVE YOU!

Adventure! God's Love!

This week has been quite the adventure!!

Tuesday we had zone conference which was super good. We talked about commitments and the Book of Mormon and it definitely helped me answer some questions I had. And I survived getting a flu shot! Hopefully that's the last time I'll have to get one of those for a while.

We had a lesson Tuesday night with a young girl and her mom that we met last week. The mom grew up in Rochester and had a lot of LDS friends and wanted her daughter to learn about different churches so had us come over and share with her about our beliefs. It was really cool. The daughter actually drew pictures of us while she was listening and they were super good!! Now it is hanging on my wall :)
Then we taught one of our investigators who is super awesome and her lessons are always so Spirit led I love it.

Wednesday we had exchanges with the Corning sisters which was a blast! I learned so much from them. They are seriously both such incredible missionaries. We taught some good lessons and helped our investigators progress.

Thursday morning we were tracting and we met this girl who was about our age and she let us in and we taught the restoration and gave her a Book of Mormon! It was such a tender mercy! On that same street we met this lady who was 92!! She was the most active 92 year old I have ever seen. She lived in a cute little house by herself and didn't have a walker or anything. I need to learn what her secret is haha she was the sweetest lady ever and wanted us to come visit her everyday! haha

Friday we helped the High Priests in serving at a food kitchen which was really fun. We also went to a members house that lives in Pennsylvania!! (Our ward boundaries go into PA which is still crazy to me) The members we went to for dinner have the nicest property in the world. They own a LAKE! It is absolutely gorgeous. And they lived in Federal Way which made me so happy that I could talk to them about how amazing Washington is! I seriously love WA so much.
They also made the best food! They have a grape vineyard and they make grape juice which was soooo good. I seriously don't think I can go back to store bought grape juice after that. Even though it was a million miles to get there it was definitely worth it.

Saturday our ward mission leader and his wife took us to a lesson with a recent convert we teach because he is her home teacher and after the lesson it was time for us to go home for dinner but instead they took us out to eat at Louise which is a super high class restaurant in town and it was delicious!! We are definitely spoiled haha

Last night we were tracting and everything was all fine and dandy but we did see dark clouds above us so we thought it might rain soon. But we kept going and then when we were about 4 or 5 houses away from our car and it started POURING!! It was really funny because Sister Moore said she felt a raindrop on her head and then a second later I felt one on my foot then in honestly 2 seconds we were drenched from head to toe! Not gonna lie I screamed a little bit as we were running to the car haha But the cool miracle that happened after we were soaking wet is that we tried a potentials house that we haven't been able to contact in forever. I prayed that they would let us in and we would be able to share a message. So it was a little before 8pm and pitch dark at this point. The door was open but they had one of those net things with magnets in the middle to keep bugs out. I wasn't sure where to knock and then I saw the young couple inside and they were just talking so I said "hello" and they freaked out!! I scared them so bad!!! They said they just finished watching a scary movie!! It was so funny!! I felt really bad but everyone was laughing so its all good. When they get baptized some day they will probably tell how the first missionaries they met scared them half to death hahah After that we got to share the gospel with them and give them a Book of Mormon! It was so great!

Being a missionary is the greatest thing in the world! This week as I have been thinking and praying a lot about which college to go to I have learned a lot of things. I have been able to realize that personally for me the Book of Mormon can answer questions of the soul. That prayer really does do wonders. That sometimes our prayers are answered through others. That studying the scriptures really does give inspiration. That fasting is powerful and helps us to be more in tune with the Spirit. That my patriarchal blessing is really words that God meant just for me. How important knowing how to receive personal revelation is because it is something that will benefit me throughout my life as I have a lot of big life changing decisions ahead of me.

I am so grateful for this gospel and for knowing that God loves me and knows what is best for me.
Hope you all feel God's love this week!

Time flies when you're having fun!

This week has gone by fast!

We got to see an investigator this week that has been out of town for a long time which was awesome! We had a lesson with another investigator and a member came with us and they bonded! The lesson was so good, we all felt the Spirit so strongly. She kept saying how she felt so happy when we are there and feels happy afterwards! She's recognizing the Spirit!! I'm so happy.

Thursday we were tracting and we met this lady who seemed interested, we asked her if there was a time we could come by and share more and she said come on in! Of course we accepted that offer! We taught her the restoration and she was pretty accepting! We are teaching her more this week which should be good :)

We also started teaching someone new on Thursday. He's a super nice guy with a 3 year old son who wants to start going to church. After that we had a really good lesson with a less active family! The Spirit was so strong as we talked about testimonies!

Friday-Vestal exchanges!! I love exchanges, the planning part before the exchange isn't the funnest thing ever but the actual day itself is so much fun. I love the sisters I get to spend the day with! I learn so much from them. And it's always nice to change things up a bit. :)

Things have been going good here! These next three weeks a lot of exciting things are happening! And then transfers again! And who knows what will happen there! Things get a little tricky when your companion goes home the same time as you.

Love you all!! And Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian family! :D I'll be celebrating over here in NY!

On the road.... to MLC

It's been a good week! Our most progressing investigator moved to another sister's area which was sad but those sisters are awesome so at least I know she is in good hands. :)

Thursday we drove to Syracuse to spend the night with the sisters there for MLC (Missionary Leaders Conference) on Friday which was super fun. We had to wake up a little after 5am to get to Utica on time Friday morning but it was worth it because we got to jam, eat pop tarts and watch the sunrise!

MLC was awesome as always! President talked more about the APOSTLE coming this month!! Yes, everyone in the mission will get to shake the hand of an APOSTLE OF THE LORD. HOW COOL IS THAT?? I'm so so so excited!!

We also had a miracle of being able to see someone who's been in Florida for months!! She is the sweetest lady ever and it made me so happy to see her again. <3

And this weekend was General Conference!!
I loved it so much!! I can't wait to get the conference magazine and be able to read and study them all over again! If you weren't able to watch conference you definitely should do that! It helps so much!
I am so sad that I don't have anymore general conferences as a full-time missionary. :'( I know that God has bigger and better things planned for me though, even though I wouldn't mind being a missionary forever. :)

I love you all!! Have a great week!

Gorgeous sunrise on the way to MLC, it almost made waking up at the crack of dawn worth it :)

So...the elders decided to make funny faces in our backup camera and
then it turned into them doing this and walking beside the car for a while lol

Of course we had to go to Stewarts on our way back from MLC :)
